"Global Brigades is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity to invest their time and energy to supporting a developing community in need. However, I have undoubtedly gained more than I gave; the resilient and selfless nature of the community members taught me more than I could have ever hoped. I have built lasting friendships that I will cherish until the time comes that I am able to visit my second home once again."

"I had hopped on a plane and set out to teach a little microfinance in a rural community. Little did I know then I would be the one getting schooled. In ten days I learned more about compassion, resilience, and love from the incredible people I was surrounded by day in and day out than any number of college lectures will ever teach me. Most rewarding and humbling experience of my life for sure."

"The Global Brigades Microfinance trip has given me a really deep perspective of global poverty and what we as UT students, Americans, and citizens of the world can do to alleviate it. I wholeheartedly believe that our work in Ghana has made a positive influence in the lives of the families we assisted in helping them achieve the hopes and dreams of any family: happiness, prosperity, a better future."
