Due to the special circumstances involving COVID-19, we are working towards completing the upcoming brigade virtually to ensure the safety of our team and the local enterprises.
Who We AreWe're Texas GBB, a humanitarian student organization, at the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business and part of Global Brigades, the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization.
We're one of the 3 Global Brigades chapters active across the Forty Acres that, along with chapters at other universities across the United States, collectively seek to implement health, economic, and education initiatives to strategically meet development goals in communities across the developing world. |
What We DoWe have sent groups of passionate students to locations in Ghana, Honduras, and Panama to help empower rural communities to become more economically stable through strategic consulting and investing initiatives. We supports thoughtful, holistic development initiatives that our brigaders and the community members come up with together.
Students selected to attend a "brigade" learn about basic consulting practices, microfinance, cultural issues in our service countries, and careers in the non-profit sector during the semester leading up to the one-week (or longer) trip. Our programs are open to both business and non-business majors, and applications open at the beginning of the semester. |
