2015-2016 Winter Brigade Application:
Early this coming January 2016 we will be going to Honduras for a 10-11 day trip over winter break. Please fill out this application and email an updated version of your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in going! Applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm on Sunday 10/11/15. All majors (even those outside of the business school) and class years are welcome!
We'd love to have you join us! This trip is an exciting way to get real world business experience, to gain perspective on how developing economies operate, and to understand how difficult effective facilitation of development aid can be.
Info sessions for the trip will be held on 10/6 and 10/8 in The McCombs School of Business, GSB 5.153 from 7:30pm-8:30pm. You are welcome to come even if you can only make part of the session. Attending an info session is not mandatory, but it's a great way to learn about the trip. Please direct any questions to email@example.com.
Who We Are
We're Texas GBB, a humanitarian student organization at the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business and part of Global Brigades, the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization.
We're one of seven Global Brigades chapters active across the Forty Acres that, along with chapters at other universities across the United States, collectively seek to implement health, economic, and education initiatives to strategically meet development goals in communities across the developing world.
What We Do
We send groups of passionate students to locations in Ghana, Honduras, and Panama twice a year to help empower rural communities to become more economically stable through strategic consulting and investing initiatives.
Students selected to attend a "brigade" learn about basic consulting practices, microfinance, cultural issues in our service countries, and careers in the non-profit sector during the semester leading up to the one-week trip.
Our programs are open to both business and non-business majors, and applications open at the beginning of each semester.
